Clothes. We wear them every day. They come in every size, colour and pattern, and we spend countless hours buying, washing, drying, folding and wearing them.

“Clothes and Us” follows three humans and a cast of garments donated from around the world. Their journey begins with the everyday drudgery of laundry and grows into fantastical scenes filled with T-shirt puppets and flying ghosts.

What do clothes mean to us? Who are we without them, and how do they transform us? Can they protect us? What do they hide? As clothes take over the stage, an ordinary closet becomes a place filled not only with fabric, but with memories, stories and friends.

Minimum 6 × 6 m. A hard, flat surface, preferably covered with a dance mat. A black box is preferred for the indoor version.

Rigging

One aerial rigging point at a minimum height of 6 m and minimum working load of 800 kg. Three floor or wall points at the corners of the stage for Chinese pole wires, each with a minimum working load of 300 kg.

Other requirements

Basic stage lighting and a sound system. Kanta Company can provide a suggested lighting plan.
